Pastor and Staff

Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me.... My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. (John 17:11-15)

  • Please pray for the new pastor, whoever it may be, that God would begin preparring thier heart for the ministry He is calling them to at SCOG

Prayer: Father, I pray that Your presence would be very real to our congregation during this time of transition.  I pray that You would annoint our speakers as they minister to our congregation in this time of change.  Watch over them as they travel to and from Shorewood each week.  Father I ask that You would impart wisdom and discernment to each speaker and that they would follow the leading of the Holy Spirit each week as they prepare their message.  Father, I ask that the staff of SCOG would be encouraged and seek unity during this time of change.  I pray that the elders would continually seek Your will and take time to hear from You as they move forward with the task of finding a new pastor for our church.  I pray that You would begin to work in the heart of the individual that You are calling to shepherd our congregation, prepare them Lord, for the work that You have for them to do here.

"If some Christians that had been complaining about their minister had said and acted less before men and had applied themselves with all their might to cry to God for their ministers--had, as it were, risen and stormed heaven with their humble, fervent, and incessant prayers for them--they would have been much more in the way of success."  --Ralph Neighbour
